God is Our Father

“The Lord’s Prayer” Poem 3

You have so many Names, so many
The King of Kings, Almighty, Lord of Lords
You’re El Shaddai- You’re God that’s all sufficient
And Yet You want us calling You- Our Father

You’re Adonai - You are the Maker, Lord
You are Jehovah, Yahweh- the I AM
You’re El Elyon- The Most High God You are
And yet You chose that we would call You - Father

You are the Mighty One, the Everlasting
Jehovah-Jireh and Jehovah Rapha
You are the Holy One, Jehovah- Rohi
And yet You want us to know You as our Father

Our Father Who’s in Heaven- You are Holy
You’re love, You’re Mercy, You are Grace and Peace
You are not looking for our fancy words
You want us coming to You- as Your children

Our Father Who’s in Heaven- You are with us
We thank You for Your sacrifice, Your love
You gave to us what to You was so precious
You gave to us Your Son, to us redeem

Our Father Who’s in Heaven, we’ll be with You
One day in Heaven we will also be
As for right now, we long to know You deeply
To walk with You, to know You, love You more

To the Fathers Who Feel Like a Failure

“Dad, I really wanted to talk to you, but I just didn’t know how to start the conversation”- said the teenage boy to my comatose patient. As I heard that, a tear rolled down my cheek and I quickly wiped it away.

It hurt to hear those words.

One of the most difficult things for me as an ICU nurse has been watching children lose a parent.  I was this patient’s nurse, and it was the day the family was telling him goodbyes. The next day- this patient- who was a husband, a father- was taken off life support.

Earlier in the day, there were a lot of family members in the room. But they had all left to eat; all except the teenage son of my patient- spending the last moments with his father.

There was no response from the patient, from this father, to anything the teenager told him.

Children Want To Talk

Dad, I really wanted to talk to you, but I just didn’t know how to start the conversation” – rang in my mind again and again. Although this event has happened several years ago- I will never forget it.

And I thought, “How many teenagers feel the same way? They want to talk to the parent, but just don’t know how to start the conversation”.

How many parents are too busy for their children, or simply bought into the idea that teenagers want nothing to do with the parents- when the reality might be that their teenager just doesn’t know how to start the conversation.

I don’t know the dynamics of that family and what exactly happened. Maybe this father wanted and tried to talk to this boy too, but the boy did not have the courage or the words to open up then. Maybe they got too busy. Maybe they thought they had time, but time and opportunity were stolen from them.

Fathers – You are Alive

None of us are perfect. Maybe today you are reading this and you feel like a failure as a father. Maybe you feel like your children don’t care about you right now. Maybe you have always wanted to be a father, but never had that privilege.

But if you are reading this- you are alive. And if you are alive- you have opportunity. To talk, to begin a conversation. To spend time. To ask for forgiveness. To invest into your children. To make them smile and laugh and have a good time. You are alive. It is not too late. You are not a failure, you are an opportunity.

Maybe you have not done everything right- but you were there. You worked hard and provided for your family. You did not quit.

And if you don’t have any biological children- there are so many who need a good father- figure. If you have the father’s heart- you can be a father to those who so desperately need one.

Make time for your children. Have fun with them. Start a conversation. Maybe you will discover- your child really wants to talk with you, and just doesn’t know how to begin the conversation.

Fathers, if you are reading this, you are alive! Be Thankful for this privilege, for this opportunity. There are so many children who wish they had a father still with them.

When Life Gets Interrupted

Fear tried to grip my heart as I read the email that stated that we have until June 10th to completely move out of our apartment. Just the thought of having pack and move out so quickly and look for another affordable place to live seemed overwhelming.

I am a student at Charis Bible College, work 2 nights in ICU as a nurse, and to my already busy schedule- I will now need to find another place to live. This inconvenient life interruption seemed like too much.

The view near my apartments. I will miss seeing this scenery. My apartment is on a mountain, and this view is just a short distance walking downhill.

Fear tried to grip my heart, but the presence of Peace was so much greater. Supernatural peace filled me. I did not know all the answers. But I had peace.

“It will all work out for good- because I love the Lord and I am called according to His purpose”- I reminded myself.

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose” Romans 8:28 NKJV

“God is for me, He is not against me”- again I reminded myself.

“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:31 NKJV

My Apartment Got Flooded

It seems there is this inconvenience
It seems to be a time to fear
But that is only if you're looking
From the perspective of the world

When I realized on May 11th that my apartment got flooded after heavy rain- my room especially- I had this supernatural peace.

The foam pad that’s folded up to the right was too soft for me, and I had taken it out of the top of my mattress and placed in on the bottom, on the floor. (I do not have a bed frame). The foam pad soaked up all the water and saved the mattress- and saved some of my books that I had laid on the floor by my bed. I had to throw away the foam pad.
The floor of my bedroom

I have not slept in my own bedroom for over 3 weeks now. I have loved our comfortable apartment and was hoping that things will be fixed and life would return to normal fairly quickly.

But late last week, I received an email from my property manager stating that before they will fix the inside of the apartment, they need to fix the outside, and the damages from flooding to our apartment would take over a month to repair and my contract was being terminated immediately.

Maintaining Peace in Midst of Trials

It's not the time for complaining
Or to feel sorry for ourselves
It is a time of opportunity
To praise the Lord and give Him thanks

How do you have peace when the unexpected happens?

Peace is a Person. Peace is Jesus. Jesus gave me this supernatural peace when my apartment got flooded.

“You will keep him in perfect peace,
Whose mind is stayed on You,
Because he trusts in You” Isaiah 26:3

I have found that the best way to maintain peace is to spend time with God. Be with Him. He is our peace.

Looking up from this park is where my apartment is- few buildings up the road. After working night-shift, sleeping for few hours on a couch- I went outside to spend time with the Lord. It was a beautiful and refreshing time!

When Fear and Anxiety Come Knocking at the Door

It is a time to bring a sacrifice
A sacrifice of praise to God
To say Lord - in the midst of trials
I still You love and praise Your Name

But it seems fear and anxiety are often trying to knock at the door of my heart and come in after my apartment got flooded.

Fear and anxiety tried to convince me to be stressed out about packing. That it would be hard to find another place like this- very affordable, cozy, and in a very nice location.

Fear and anxiety tried to convince me that I don’t have the time to go to college, go to work, find another place, pack and move out – all in a short amount of time.

Great reminders from the Word of God!

What can I do when fear and anxiety not only try to knock at the door of my heart and emotions, but forcefully try to come in and take control?

The Word Must Become Priority

The friends who blessed us and allowed us to stay in their house for a week while they were on vacation gave me this encouraging verse

What can I do to maintain peace, to keep fear and anxiety out – even when life gets interrupted and more challenging?

Stand on the Word. Stand on God’s Promises.

What must I do when life gets tough
When hopelessness tries to creep in
When fear just comes and wants to rule
And brings anxiety with it

The Word of God, it is my strength
It is the anchor for the soul
I preach the Gospel to myself
Remind myself that God is Love!

God is FOR ME, He’s Not against me!
God is still Good, He mercy has!
He who spared not His Son for us
Will freely give to me all things!

This trial- He will use for good
And He works ALL THINGS FOR MY GOOD
Because I love Him and I’m called
According to His purpose called

Acknowledge God in all your ways
Lean not on your own mind and strength
He will direct your steps, trust Him
Seek first His kingdom, trust in Him

“Fear not, I’m with you, child believe
I will not leave you or forsake
I care for you, I’ll carry you
My plans for you are always good”

I would have fainted and lost hope
Unless I had believed this truth
God’s goodness I will see in life!
In my own life- God has been good!

I choose to praise God and Him thank
That He is faithful and He’s good!
He’ll carry me and give me strength
I will Him worship and will praise

God takes Care of Us

It is a time to see God's faithfulness
It is a time to see His grace
It is a time to see His mercy
And His great love and care for us

Ever since our apartment got flooded my 2 housemates and I have had a free place to stay. Friends and families have opened their houses for us.

One family gave us their entire house for a week when they went on vocation. Another family is offering us their house for 3 weeks when they go to vocation, and meantime is allowing us to stay with them. And another one said we can stay at their place anytime. God has truly been good and is taking care of us!!

This is by the first house where we stayed after the flooding. I am so thankful for their caring hearts and for opening their house for us!

His Word Sustains Us

Few days ago, when I was reading Isaiah 55, the 12th verse really spoke to me:

“For you shall go out with joy, And be led out with peace; The mountains and the hills Shall break forth into singing before you, And all the trees of the field shall clap their hands”.

And when I read this verse I knew it was speaking to this situation. I shall move out of this apartment with joy and be led out with peace! Not with stress and worry. Now with anxiety. Not with sadness. But with JOY! And be led out with PEACE!

Actually on the way home from college, my housemate and I had so much fun listening and singing along to this song! We shall go out with joy and be led out with peace!!

You can listen to it here: https://youtu.be/OH0XbpNY2g8

But when I came to the apartment that same day, it seemed like I lacked the energy and the motivation to start packing. Sadness and hopelessness about the situation tried to creep in again.

Our apartment is right by the building on upper right side of this picture. The trees on the left of this picture is the place where I liked to rest and spend time with God.

The Lord Knows How to Encourage

It is a time to say Lord thank You
For opportunity to trust
To not lean on our understanding
Thank You that You'll direct our path

My neighbor- a very strong Spirit filled believer kept coming to my mind. I thought maybe I should knock at her door and see if we could talk or pray together. But in the afternoon, as I sat outside reading the Word, she came outside.

She was rushing to pick up her grandson, but when I told her we are to move out, and that the Lord encouraged me with the verse from Isaiah that “we shall go out with joy and be led out with peace”- the Lord then also used her to speak words of encouragement to me.

This did not happen to you” she said, “This happened FOR you… Actually it happened more for someone else where God will be placing you next. The next place where you will live, there will be people to minister to and where your light is needed…  Be courageous… Stay in God’s Word…”

The words she spoke ministered to me so deeply that I broke down and wept. Supernatural peace once again filled my heart. And supernatural strength.

I was planning to take an afternoon nap that day, thinking that I needed one to get re-energized. But after hearing the words she spoke, such strength filled my body that I soon started packing with joy and peace!

And we shall go out with joy and be led with peace!!

My amazing housemates and I!

God Usually Speaks Through His Word

The Lord does not always use people to speak to me, although that is also a blessing. God also leads me by giving me confidence and peace about what to do. But often the way I hear God’s Voice is through His Word. A certain Scripture, a verse will jump out at me, and I will have this confidence, this peace and assurance that this verse is for the situation I am in.

Often, I would be reading a certain Scripture (the next book/chapter on my list), and the Lord would use what I am reading to speak to me. Or sometime during prayer a verse or passage will come to me or to my friends about the situation.

To conclude, I wanted to share other verses that the Lord has used to speak to me and my housemates about this situation that we are in:

“For the LORD God is a sun and shield; The LORD will give grace and glory; No good thing will He withhold From those who walk uprightly” Psalm 84:11 NKJV

What an amazing reminder that no good thing will God withhold from us!

“Is My hand shortened at all that it cannot redeem? Or have I no power to deliver? Indeed with My rebuke I dry up the sea, I make the rivers a wilderness” Isaiah 50:2b NKJV

Sometimes we start to look at our situation and make it bigger than God. But this verse reminded me that God HAS the power to deliver and His hand is not shortened; He CAN redeem!

“Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old.
Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert” Isaiah 43:18-19 NKJV

This verse was given to my housemate Alina, when we were praying together. The Lord reminded us that no matter how much we loved our apartment, God will do a new thing and this apartment was now a “former thing, the thing of old”. And even though we do not have all the answers and it seems like we are in the wilderness, the Lord will make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He will make a way!

“So Jesus answered and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel’s,
who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time—houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions—and in the age to come, eternal life” Mark 10:29 -30 NKJV

This verse was was given to Raven, my other housemate! It is an amazing reminder that the Lord will take care of us!

“And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the LORD your God” Deuteronomy 28:2 NKJV

This verse from Deuteronomy was given to me today. I do not have to chase blessings they will overtake me and are already overtaking me!

And I hope that these verses speak to you about any circumstance you might be in.

I shared parts of this poem throughout this post, but here is all of it! This poem came to me in 2 parts as I came to work after the flooding and was about to start my nigh-shift. The first 3 stanzas came at the beginning of the first night, and the next 3 at the beginning of the next night-shift.

Always the Father

“The Lord’s Prayer” Poem 2

Our Father Who is in Heaven
You’re God- High and lifted up
You’re Holy and Righteous and Mighty
But always the Father to us

Our Father who is in Heaven
You’re Father of Mercies too
You mercy and grace give sufficient
You love us, You care for us

Our Father Who is in Heaven
More people- they need to know
To taste of Your goodness, mercy
To know how You love so much

Our Father who is in Heaven
I want to bring people to You
That they might to You come boldly
To Your throne of Grace through Your Son

Our Father who is in Heaven
I’m loved and I love You too
I want to be rooted and grounded
In Your love I want to live

Our Father who is in Heaven
You’re good- You are always good
And yet we Your goodness doubted
Forgive us, forgive us Lord.

“Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!” Psalm 34:8 NKJV

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,
Who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God” 2 Corinthians 2:3-4 NKJV

“Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him” 1 John 3:1 NKJV

“Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need” Hebrews 4:16 NKJV

Our Father Who is in Heaven

“The Lord’s Prayer” Poem 1

Our Father Who is in Heaven
You want us to come to You
Come into Your Presence, seek You
Come- make our petitions known

Our Father who is in Heaven
Before we our prayers say
You know every need, each detail
Yet You want us speaking to You

Our Father Who is in Heaven
You world have loved so much
That You gave to us Lord Jesus
Your Own Son You gave for us

Our Father Who is in Heaven
Your disciples You have loved so much
You love them like You loved Jesus
When He walked upon this earth

Our Father Who is in Heaven
You told us so often- You love
Of Your love You talked so often
In Scriptures of it You talked much

Our Father Who is in Heaven
So often we doubled Your love
Because we did not really know You
Because often we lacked faith

Our Father Who is in Heaven
You are God of love- You’re love
And I want to become also
I want to become too: Love

“I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved MeJohn 17:23

Self-Pity Must Go

As I sat full of self-pity
And felt sorry for myself
There were people dying, hurting
And so many went to hell

"Do you see the world that’s hurting?
Without Christ many still die
Will you go on being self-centered?
Or allow Christ thought you live?"

As I sat full of self- pity
I reminded was of Love
Jesus came- gave up His life
And for self He did not live

I my life have to God given
So self-pity: You Must Leave!
I refuse you! I renounce you!
You will not me rule in life!

I am crucified with Jesus!
I am His, Belong to Christ!
I have self denied, Christ followed
I my cross take- follow Him

Lord I need You, need You daily
Help me keep my eyes on Christ
On His suffering, His mercy
Help me be Christ-centered always

11/22/2022

“And He said to them all, If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me” Luke 9:23 KJV

When Faith and Obedience Seem Irrational

Miracles happen… but sometimes to see them we need to take a step of obedience in faith!!!

In my case, a step of faith meant to apply to be a sponsor of a Ukrainian refugee in the fall of 2022- when I was financially broke myself. I had less then $28 in my bank account.

Pikes Peak Colorado; Alina and I

Applying to be a sponsor seemed like an irrational thing to do. I had been unemployed for over a year when I applied. I had taken a break from working as a nurse, attended Kingdom Domain College (KDC) in California ( https://www.kdcglobal.org/), went to missions trips to Mexico (see my testimony here: https://imustdecrease.net/lessons-from-missions-trip-to-mexico/), twice to Ethiopia , and to Poland/Ukraine.

I had plans to work after KDC, but the Lord sent me back to Ukraine for two months as a war-time volunteer/ evangelist. You can read about my testimonies in Ukraine here: https://imustdecrease.net/overcoming-fear-during-war/ and here: https://imustdecrease.net/god-can-open-doors/

I was in such a difficult financial situation when I came back to Florida, that I could not even afford gas for my car. I was very thankful that my Dad often blessed me by filling up my gas tank. There were obstacles to getting a job in Florida, and I only had peace about getting a job in Colorado.

Applying to be a Ukrainian Refugee Sponsor

Borodyanka, Ukraine July 2022;
Few minutes from these buildings was a campsite where Alina and I both volunteered and brought hope to war-traumatized children

The first thought that came to my mind when I realized that I might have to apply to be a Ukrainian refugee sponsor was, “This would be such an inconvenient time to have a refugee living with me…

I was financially broke, about to move to Colorado to attend Charis Bible College and would need an apartment, furniture, kitchen supplies, etc. “I would be struggling myself“, I thought, How could I have a refugee also?

But as soon as I thought that, the Lord told me, “Christians in Ukraine inconvenience themselves a lot more than you ever will for refugees. You will be OK”. I knew that was the truth. When I was in Ukraine as a war time volunteer, I have seen how Christians in Ukraine have opened up their homes to host refugees who were leaving more dangerous areas- no matter how inconvenient it was for them.

After having this reassurance from the Lord, that I would be OK- I had peace about applying to be a sponsor. I knew the Lord would take care of us…

The Lord placed it on my heart to begin the process of applying to be a Ukrainian refugee sponsor the day I received a job offer in Colorado. When I started to apply and got to the part where I needed to submit an official letter from my bank showing how much money I had, I got very discouraged. I also became very ashamed that I had so little money. I stopped doing the application because I felt hopeless at first. It took me about 3 days to get over the shame and go to the bank for that letter that was required.

This is a clip from my official bank letter that I submitted to USCIS to become a Ukrainian refugee sponsor.

As I was finishing up the application to be a sponsor, I received this firm assurance in my spirit that miraculously doors would be opened up for me and I would be approved as a sponsor- thought it seemed totally unrealistic. After all logic was telling me a job offer and only $27.58 was not enough to be a sponsor.

I was so financially broke, that I had to borrow money to move from Florida to Colorado. And yet, in a little over a month after moving to Colorado- Alina came to join me. Alina came from Ukraine by faith- not because she was afraid of the war, but because the Lord had sent her here.

Going to America by Faith

Last year, when I went to Ukraine by faith, I bought one way ticket to Poland. The reality was that I did not have the money to get back to America. But as soon as my pastor in Jacksonville, FL found out that I had only one way ticket- he offered to pay for my ticket back to U.S. This was a huge blessing for me which I gladly received.

The Lord laid it on my heart to buy the airline ticket for Alina- for her to come to America- before I even had the money to do so- and when I was still in-debt by self. When I received my first paycheck in Colorado, that same day the Lord reminded me that I needed to get tickets for Alina. But the first tickets that I got her were only to New York.

This is in Borodyanka, Ukraine (A city that was heavily bombed), where Alina and I both served at children’s camp

I struggled with questions of how long Alina would have to be at New York customs before she is granted the official refugee parole. I did not know if I would have to come to New York for her after all her legal papers said Florida because I was living in Florida when I applied to be her sponsor.

Alina was already in Frankfurt Airport when I sent her her flight information from New York to Colorado! Talk about faith!! Alina began her journey to U.S., being on a plane for the first time, with tickets to New York only, while I lived in Colorado.

The Lord gave me peace at that “last day” moment about which ticket to get to allow enough time at customs and also come to Colorado without being stuck in New York by herself.

How I Met Alina

I met Alina last year when I went to Ukraine as a war-time volunteer. And when the team I was serving with temporary left Ukraine, Alina allowed me to stay at her place for free. We became friends, like sisters, and at that time Alina had no plans to evacuate and leave Ukraine.

This is at Borodyanka, Ukraine children’s Camp July 2022, where both Alina and I served. The building on the background had received damage from the “bomb wave”; a lot of the windows were already replaced, but some were still covered with plastic at the time of the photo.

It was through Alina that the Lord opened the doors up and I was able to serve at children’s camps at Borodyanka, Ukraine and then with the Christian Mobile Medical Team. This is a team in which Alina was part of and volunteered with for over 4 years- mostly as a volunteer optometrist.

Alina worked as an optometrist and was very involved in a lot of ministries in Ukraine, and many people she was volunteering with and serving with could not understand why she would leave serving her people to come to America.

The Lord has done many miracles in Alina’s life as she served in God’s Kingdom in Ukraine. Maybe one day she will write a book about everything the Lord has done in her life and how He has led her. Her story is truly amazing and inspirational.

Sent to America to Grow

Alina and I in Ukraine in summer of 2022

Alina might be classified as a Ukrainian refugee, but she did not come to U.S. because she was afraid of living in midst of war. She courageously helped many evacuated Ukrainians. The Lord protected her from a lot of dangerous situations. I believe she is here in U.S. simply because the Lord sent her here- to prepare her for greater things He has in store for her.

On the 3rd day in America, she came as a visitor to Charis Bible College with us.  The Lord miraculously opened doors and she has been allowed to come to college! And recently someone paid for her to get online Charis Bible College education in Russian language also! So she is doing both- going to classes here in Colorado and online classes in Russian!

She is quickly learning English and since the very beginning the Lord granted her the ability to understand what most of the speakers are saying in college, which is a miracle!!

I truly believe the Lord brought Alina to America, for such a time as this. To prepare her for much greater things that the Lord has in store for her!

Alina’s family is still in Ukraine. She does not have any relatives that she knows in America. And yet the Lord has provided her with brothers and sisters in Christ to be her “family” here in America.

What God Calls Us to Do, He Provides For

Alina and I in Kiev, Ukraine; summer 2022

Many will think it is crazy and irrational to do something like applying to be a sponsor when you are financially broke yourself. But what God calls us to do- He provides for all the things necessary. We simply have to take the risk of obeying!

The Scripture reminds us that God will supply ALL our need!! “But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus” Philippians 4:19 KJV

I am thankful there were many people who blessed me financially before I moved- but that was only a small fraction of what I needed for the move to Colorado. But by the time Alina came to Colorado, in mid-January, I was already living in an apartment- debt free, and Alina had her own bed waiting for her!

Through the sign-in bonuses that I received from my job, I was able to pay off the huge debt I had accumulated, I paid in full a years tuition for Charis Bible College, and had the money for the many other expenses that were waiting for me. Praise God! He always richly provides for us!!

Through a student at Charis Bible College and his wife, the Lord had provided us with new-looking $7000 white leather couches, and other furniture. Another staff member in Charis also gave us some very much needed furniture. I saw a blessing after a blessing! It was all given and delivered for free!!! God is Good and He truly provides!!

Miracles happen, and sometimes it takes a step of faith to see them!! I have had the privilege of seeing how the Lord is taking care of us! I also have the privilege of seeing God open so many doors for Alina and provide for her! And I am excited to see how the Lord will provide for Alina a much needed car!

Declaimer: Alina was not only OK with me sharing this testimony but also encouraged me to do so! One day I believe she will write in more detail her part of this story and many more amazing stories of what the Lord has done in her life!

The Lord has been speaking to Alina with this verse since couple of months before the war in Ukraine began. The Lord has done many things in Alina’s life that were great and mighty. And one of the latest is bringing her to America and opening doors for her to get more grounded in the Word of God at Charis Bible College! I believe this is only the beginning!

The Eyes Of God

Give Me Your Eyes

Give me Your eyes- Your eyes of flame of fire
I want to see the way You see O Lord
Your eyes are flame of fire- You see clearly
I want to see things clearly- like You do

Give me Your eyes- Your eyes of flame of fire
From Your perspective I want to see things
Give me Your eyes- Your eyes full of compassion
I want my eyes to burn with Your compassion

Give me Your eyes- Your eyes of flame of fire
I want my eyes to burn with love of God
For in Your eyes there is such love and passion
I want Your eyes; I want to burn with love

Give me Your eyes, Your eyes of flame of fire
Your eyes they burn with holiness of God
I want my eyes to holy be, be holy
I want my eyes to burn with holiness

Give me Your eyes- Your eyes of flame of fire
Your eyes don’t get polluted from sin, vileness
I want my eyes to pure be, single-minded
I want Your eyes that are so pure and clear

Give me Your eyes- Your eyes of flame of fire
The kind of flame that never will go out
I want my eyes to burn with love of Jesus
I want my eyes to burn for You o God

“Stop Doubting Daughter”

This poem was written as a personal testimony and summary of Jeremiah 15:16-21.

“Your words were found, and I ate them, And Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart; For I am called by Your name, O LORD God of hosts” Jeremiah 15:16 NKJV

Part 1

Your words were found
They were discovered
They were encountered
And secured

Your Words were found
And I did eat them
I them devoured,
I fed on them

Your Words were found
And they became
A joy to me
My heart’s delight

Your Words were found
And they sustain me
And joy they bring
Delight my heart
Part 2

And by Your Name
I’m called Lord Jesus
I’m glad to bear
Your Name O Lord

I have been called
By Your great Name
O Lord of Hosts
Master, Great King

Your Name, Your Name
So Great, so Mighty
The King of Kings
And Lord of Lords

Lord God Almighty
Jehovah Jireh
The Lord that Heals
Lord- Adonai

I bear Your Name
By Your Name called now
Help me to never
It disgrace

“I did not sit in the assembly of the mockers, Nor did I rejoice; I sat alone because of Your hand, For You have filled me with indignation.  Why is my pain perpetual And my wound incurable, Which refuses to be healed? Will You surely be to me like an unreliable stream, As waters that fail?” Jeremiah 15:17-18 NKJV

Part 3

I did not sit
With all the mockers
I didn’t rejoice
I sat alone

Why has my pain
Been so perpetual
Why does the wound
Refuse to heal?

Will You to me
Be as a liar
And as the waters
That just fail

It seems You failed
In time of need
The pain won’t cease
The wound won’t heal

You have allowed
Those persecutions
It seems they won’t
Cease to hurt me

The Living Water
-Did He fail me?
Why do I hurt
So deeply still?
Part 4

Then the Lord answered
To me replied He
If you return- repent, come back
Then I will bring you up again

Give up your doubt,
Repent, trust God
Give up this attitude you have
Give up despair, Give up self pity

If you return- I will restore you
And you will stand before Me still
As representative of Mine
Obedient and purified

And if you take precious from vile
You’ll be My spokesman, as My mouth
And don’t allow them to influence you
Turn to them not, but be the light

“Therefore thus says the LORD: “If you return, Then I will bring you back; You shall stand before Me; If you take out the precious from the vile, You shall be as My mouth. Let them return to you, But you must not return to them” Jeremiah 15:19 NKJV

Part 5

Extract the precious
From the worthless
Take what is precious
From the vile

In all your trials
Persecutions
Take what is precious
From the vile

And from the wound
That hasn’t healed yet
And from the pain
That is still there

Take what is precious
From the vile
Separate precious
From the worthless

Examine now
Your heart so closely
Get rid of doubt
Wrong attitude

Find precious faith
Find gold, endurance
Find Word of God
And to it cling

Take away doubt;
God’s Word find precious
And you will be
God’s mouth again
Part 6

Take what is precious
From the worthless
It is a Word
To follow still

In every person
Find what’s precious
Looking at evil
Find the gold

In every circumstance
Great trouble
Find what is precious
And take it

Separate precious
From the worthless
Focus on precious
Not the bad

And even if
The circumstances
Are very evil
People too

Find in your heart
That which is precious:
Endurance
Perseverance, patience

In midst of evil
And the vile
You will find people
Who have strength

And they don’t bow
To circumstances
But they trust God
On His Word stand

And that is precious
Very precious
Focus on that
Not on vileness
Part 7 -Summary-

Your Words were found
And I devoured them
They me sustained
Brought joy to heart

But then in life
There came great problems
That tried to steal
God’s Word from heart

There was this pain
That would not leave me
There was this wound
That would not heal

I started doubting
And I questioned
Did the Word fail
And is there hope

“Return, repent
Stop doubting daughter
Take what is precious
From the vile

Find Word of God
As precious always
The Word of God
Is Precious still

It’s promises
They are so precious
Find them, by faith
Stand on them child”

When God Seems Far

There was a time to me You were important
I took the time to be with You each day
Without Your presence, I just couldn’t live
But something happened, and You know that too

No longer I Your Presence sought as always
Life disappointed me and hurt me deep
And I no longer saw You through the Scriptures
But through my pain, and what somebody did

Lord- and You know- Your love I questioned greatly
Just like disciples cried “Lord, Don’t You care?”
When in the storm, You were in the boat sleeping
I too You questioned, asked, “Lord, don’t you care?”

“Why are You sleeping when the storm is raging
Lord don’t You care?” I questioned You so greatly
But You’re not sleeping, with me You were there
Waiting for me to not neglect Your Presence

Your Word is true- You never change, You’re with me
You love so fiercely, and You care so much
But Lord I changed and my heart it got hardened
It hardened much with unbelief got hardened

And I repented and to You turned back
You didn’t reject me and there was no scolding
But only love, such deep deep care and love
You me embraced, forgave me, made me whole

My hardened heart- it melted in Your presence
Showers of mercy, grace I did receive
I received love and grace instead of scolding
How could I not love back when I’m so loved?

“But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?” Mark 4:38 NASB

“Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time,
casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you” 1Peter 5:6-7 NKJV

“For He Himself has said, “I WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU NOR FORSAKE YOU.”
So we may boldly say: “THE LORD IS MY HELPER; I WILL NOT FEAR. WHAT CAN MAN DO TO ME?” Heb 13:5c-6 NKJV

“Do not sorrow, for the joy of the LORD is your strength” Nehemiah 8:10 NKJV

“Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say: ‘Return, backsliding Israel,’ says the LORD; ‘I will not cause My anger to fall on you. For I am merciful,‘ says the LORD; ‘I will not remain angry forever.
Only acknowledge your iniquity, That you have transgressed against the LORD your God, And have scattered your charms To alien deities under every green tree, And you have not obeyed My voice,’ says the LORD” Jeremiah 3:12-13 NKJV
