Introduction to the Book of Revelation

The book of Revelation
Many it avoid
The book of Revelation
So many it not read

The book of Revelation
In it are written things
Things which must come so shortly
Things that must come to pass

And blessed is he that readeth
And hears this prophesy
And keeps those things which written
Are in it and obeys

The book of Revelation
Each word is true, believe
Each word that God has spoken
It all will come to pass
***
The poems that you will read
God placed in my heart: write
I said "I can't- too hard"
But still they came to me

Sometimes I wrote them crying
The message was too hard
Sometimes with great rejoicing
Triumphantly I wrote

The book of Revelation
The main lessons are these:
Repent, repent, repent
And Overcome; Christ triumphed!

The book of Revelation
The book for our time- now
Blessed is each one that reads it
And keeps things written there

Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand” Revelation 1:3

“So shall My word be that goeth forth out of My mouth: it shall not return unto Me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it” Hebrews 4:12

“For the word of the Lord is right; and all His works are done in truth” Psalm 33:4

“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” 2 Timothy 3:16

“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves” James 1:22

Father, I believe Your Word. Your Word is true and I believe everything it says.

Thank You Father, that the Word that goes out of Your mouth- will not return to You void. It will accomplish that what You please and it shall prosper.

Thank You Father, that Your WORD IS RIGHT and ALL Your works are done in truth. I believe this.

I believe that ALL Scripture is given by the inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.

I deceive my own self if I am only a hearer of the Word and not a DOER of it. Father help me to always be a doer of Your Word and not hearer only. Thank You for forgiving me for the many times I was a hearer only of Your Word and not a doer.

Holy Spirit empower me to be a doer of Your Word always.

To Follow Jesus or My Own Agenda

“I have decided to follow Jesus
No turning back, no turning back”
That is a song I knew and sing still
I have decided to follow Christ

Those words are words- until we follow
And actually do not turn back
But we are often just religious
 Not knowing what following means

 Following Jesus- means presenting
 Our own body unto God
 Present our body- acceptable, holy
 As living sacrifice to God

 For following- is consecration
And loving God above all things
With all our mind and strength and soul
And all our soul and loving people

 And following, is too, obeying
 Obeying always Voice of God
And letting Him you guide each moment
And do His will in every moment
 ***
But recently, I God did worship
 Myself presented I to God
 As living sacrifice to Him
To use me as He wishes, wants

But then I had my own agenda
My own agenda I still had
Of things I needed to accomplish
Get done and do and finish well

 God interrupted my agenda
And told me to visit a friend
And pray for her and for her healing
But I did not obey Him then

 It’s inconvenient, I thought
I’m unprepared, I am not ready
I can’t right now, too much to do
With God I argued, obeyed not
 ***
And thus I learned what is surrender
It is His will- each time, each day
It’s laying down your own agenda
And doing what God wants you do

It’s not just saying you will follow
It’s not just saying “I am Yours”
 It’s self-denying and cross taking
 And following no matter what

Lord, please forgive me, burn in me
Each root in me that’s still self-centered
That seeks my own, my own will, way
Each root of pride, in me, Lord burn

And set me Lord- on fire for You
I want Your will in my life done
Help me my mind to renew daily
And help me Lord to honor You

I want to love the way You love
And love so much- that I’ll obey You
For every time when I obey not
It’s proof that I lack love for You.

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God” Romans 12:1-2

“And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself” Luke 10:27

“If ye love Me, keep My commandments” John 14:15

“He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.”  John 14:21 NKJV

“By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments: and His commandments are not grievous” 1 John 5:2-3

“And He said to them all, If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me” Luke 9:23

  • Father, give me the grace to daily present my body unto You as a living sacrifice, holy, and acceptable unto God. And when it becomes painful and inconvenient, give me the grace to not get off the alter of surrender.
  • It is my reasonable service to present my self unto God. Lord, I present to You myself now.
  • Help me to renew my mind daily so that I will not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of my mind
  • Father, I do not want to just say I love God. I want to truly love You with all my heart, soul, mind and strength- every single day and moment of my life. I want to love my neighbor as myself always- not just sometimes.
  • The fact that sometimes I do not do Your will proves that I do not always love You. I want to love You so much that I always do Your commandants, always do Your will. I want to be a constant doer of Your Word, not hearer only.
  • Father, Your commandments are not grievous. And when they feel difficult to follow or feel grievous- it is proof that I have not loved You the way You deserve to be loved
  • I do not want to just say I deny myself, take up my cross and follow Jesus. I want that to be a daily reality of my life.

Thank You for strengthening me with might by Your Spirit. Thank You for helping me get rooted and grounded in Your love. Help me to know the love of Christ more and more each day.

How Much I am Loved

God the Father His Son loved much
Jesus perfect in every way was
He did perfectly His Father’s will
 Unto death He obedient was

God the Father His Son loved much
 Jesus glorified His Father's Name
But the Scriptures, the Scriptures tell us
God the Father us also loves much

Those who do to the Father belong
Who are His, bought by Blood of the Lamb
Jesus said, before He left this earth
That the Father loves them, loves them much

God the Father His Son loves much
And the way that the Father loved Christ
In the same way He also loves us
He loves us, like He loved Jesus Christ

It’s the truth sometimes hard to believe
I’m not perfect, I sin often, much
And like Christ, I’m obedient not
Yet the Father loves me, loves me much

When at me God the Father does look
He sees Christ, I’m accepted, I’m loved
Christ in me, I’m accepted, I’m His
And He loves me the way He loved Christ

I’m unworthy of such great deep love!
I’m unworthy to be child of God!
But my faith I have placed in Christ
 And I’m loved! I’m accepted! I’m His!

When I feel insecure, peace not have
 It’s because I have doubted God’s love
I’ve forgotten how much I am loved
Or I simply Him did not believe

Such great love- I cannot comprehend!
I’m ashamed of how little I love
 I’m ashamed that I doubted God’s love
Christ my shame also took- set me free!!

God the Father, His disciples loves much
He loves them, like He loves Jesus Christ
If to Him you belong, if You’re His
Friend believe- do not doubt His great love!

“I in them, and Thou in Me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that Thou hast sent Me, and hast loved them, as Thou hast loved Me” John 17:23

“And I have declared unto them Thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith Thou hast loved Me may be in them, and I in them” John 17:26

“That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God” Ephesians 3:16-19

“For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” Romans 8:38-39

  • Thank You Jesus that You are in me, and the Father is in You Jesus. Thank You Father that You have sent Jesus and You have loved me just like You have loved Jesus.
  • Thank You Father, that the love with which You have loved Jesus is in us and Jesus is in us.
  • Thank You for strengthening me with might by Your Holy Spirit in the inner man. I am being rooted and grounded in love. I want to more fully comprehend with all saints what is the breadth and length and depth and height and to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge. I want to be filled and walk with all the fullness of God always.
  • I am persuaded that absolutely nothing shall be able to separate me from the love of God which is Christ Jesus our Lord!

God of All Grace

You are the Father of mercies
You are the God of patience
You are the God of all comfort
 And God of consolation too

You are the God of hope
You are the God of peace
 But I have somehow missed
-That You’re the God of Grace!

You are the God of all grace
 Grace that is so abundant
 Grace upon grace You give
 Your grace- sufficient always

You are the God of all grace
And we Your grace need daily
That we can walk by faith
 Resist the adversary

Grace You give to the humble
 And You resist the proud
 I myself humble before You
And You give so much grace

I cast my care upon You
For me You care a lot
For You’re the God of grace
And grace You give so much

Grace we need to face afflictions
 Grace we need to overcome
Grace we need to walk humbly
Grace we need to not sin

You are the God of all grace
And for grace we bless You now
 We don’t deserve Your grace
Yet You it give so freely

You are the God of all grace
 Unto You- glory eternal
You have us called by Jesus
 We now belong to You

You are the God of all grace
 After we suffered awhile
 You us will perfect make
 Settled, stablished, strengthened

 And may all glory, dominion
 Be unto You O Lord
 For ever and ever, ever
You are the God of all grace!

“But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. To Him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen” 1 Peter 5:10-11

“And He said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for My strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me”  2 Corinthians 12:9

“And of His fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ” John 1:16-17

“And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work”  2 Corinthians 9:8

“But He giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble” James 4:6

  • Thank You Father, that You are the God of All Grace. You have called me unto Your eternal glory by Christ Jesus. Thank You that after I have suffered a while, You will make me perfect, stablish me, strengthen me, and settle me. To You alone be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
  • Thank You, Father, that Your grace is always sufficient for me. Your strength is made perfect in weakness. I will glory in mine infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
  • Thank You Lord, that out of Your fullness, we have received grace for grace. Thank You Jesus that through You we were given grace and truth
  • Thank You Father, that You are able to make all grace abound toward me, that I always having all sufficiently in all things may abound to every good work.
  • Thank You that You give us more grace; You give grace unto the humble and You resist the proud. Help me to always walk in Christ-like humility.

The God of Hope

Do you look at all your circumstances
And you feel: At all there is no hope
Are you troubled? Need some consolation?
Don’t despair; Our hope is not in things!

Even when our world just crushes, shatters
Don’t despair, still bow, still worship God
For our God, He is the God of hope
And our hope is God Himself, not things

And the God of hope He can you fill
With all joy and peace- this still believe!
That you may abound in hope through power
Through the power of the Holy Ghost

Does the weight of all your sorrow crush you?
Do you feel in life you’re drowning quick?
Friend have patience; troubles they won’t last
We have hope through comfort of the Scriptures

Look at Christ- He is our hope, our Savior!
He will never leave, forsake His own
He’s the God of patience, consolation
You can trust Him friend; o wait on Him!

We have hope! And let us join together
And just worship Him, and thank Him much
Let us praise the God who is our hope
Let us glorify, and praise Him much!

“…that we through patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope” Romans 15:4b

“Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost” Romans 15:13

Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer” Romans 12:12

“Who by Him do believe in God, that raised Him up from the dead, and gave Him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God” 1 Peter 1:21

“According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death. For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain” Philippians 1:20-21

“And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us” Romans 5:5

“Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord” 2 Peter 1:2

  • Thank You Father that through patience and comfort of the Scriptures I have hope
  • Thank You Father that You are the God of Hope, and You fill me with joy and peace in believing. I abound in hope through the power of the Holy Ghost.
  • I rejoice in hope. Thank you Father for giving me patience in tribulation and helping me to continue in prayer
  • My faith and my hope is in God!
  • Hope in God will never put me to shame or make me ashamed. Thank You Father that hope in God does not disappoint. I believe this and this is true in my life because my hope in not in better circumstances, my hope is not in “God doing things my way and how I want them”; my hope is in God. And You Lord will never disappoint me.
  • I might be ridiculed or shamed publicly for my faith, but in nothing I shall be ashamed. Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life or by death. For to me to live is Christ and to die is gain*
  • Hope does not put me to shame or disappoints because I have the love of God that pours out of me by the Holy Ghost that is given to me.

*This is especially important to proclaim by faith when you do not feel like it- until it becomes a reality in your life. Actually, as I was writing this, I really did not feel like rejoicing in the trials and tribulation in my life. But my feeling are not to tell me what to do. Our soul (emotions) is not to govern us. Our spirit is to govern us. And our spirit is united with Christ. And I will proclaim the truth of God and renew my mind so that my mind will start to think the way the Scripture teaches.

Lessons from the Book of Isaiah

He stretched the heavens by His mighty hand
And by Himself created He the earth
He is the first, the last, beside Him- none
There is no God apart from this great God

He earth did form, established it and made
And everything He made, It’s not in vain
There is no God beside Him, no not one
Look unto Him, for He salvation gives

His counsel, it will stand; He’ll do His pleasure
He knows the end, before it has began
The Lord of Hosts, exalted He’s in judgment
The mighty will be humbled before Him

Woe unto them who evil call as good
Woe unto them who’re wise in their own eyes
Woe unto them who wicked justify
For a reward, they evil allow, welcome

The lofty looks of men shall be all humbled
The arrogance of men shall be bowed down
For on that day, the day that God appointed
The Lord alone shall be exalted greatly

And they shall hide for fear of the Lord
They’ll go to holes of rocks the caves of earth
They will fear God, His majesty is great
And every knee before the Lord will bow

But there is grace, still grace, reject it not!
The Lord still saves, redeems, and sin forgives
And in a high and holy place He dwells
But also with the one who’s contrite, humble

“Who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the Lord? and there is no God else beside Me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside Me. Look unto Me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else. I have sworn by Myself, the word is gone out of My mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto Me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear” Isaiah 45:21c-23

“That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” Philippians 2:10-11

“And the loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be made low: and the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day. And the idols He shall utterly abolish. And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the Lord, and for the glory of His majesty, when He ariseth to shake terribly the earth” Isaiah 2:17-19

“For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones” Isaiah 57:15

“Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?” 1 Corinthians 3:16

There is no God beside the Lord. There is no God who can save except You. You are the only Savoir. You are the only true God. Thank You Father, Son-Jesus Christ, and Holy Spirit for offering the gift of salvation

Thank You for being a Just God and for being the Savoir

Thank You for saving me

Jesus You are LORD! At the Name of Jesus, every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess that You- Jesus Christ- are Lord. I choose to bow before You now, and I confess that You, Jesus, are Lord!

Jesus You are Lord of my life. You are Lord over my mind, heart, and my body. You are Lord over my finances, my job, my family, and everything. Help me to always recognize and acknowledge You as Lord and to honor You as Lord.

Thank You for choosing to dwell in me. Thank You that I am Your temple. Help me to always be of a contrite and humble spirit.

More Scripture…

“And the mean man shall be brought down, and the mighty man shall be humbled, and the eyes of the lofty shall be humbled: But the Lord of hosts shall be exalted in judgment, and God that is holy shall be sanctified in righteousness” Isaiah 5:15-16

“Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight! Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink: Which justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him! Isaiah 5:20-23

“Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like Me, Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure” Isaiah 46:9-10

God is Love- His Way is Perfect

When you see such suffering in the world
When the one you love, this earth just leaves
When you grieve and hurt, your loved one suffers
Do you start to question: Does God love?

On this earth our many questions often
Answers do not have at all or yet
But one thing in life that is for certain
God is love, And Him we still can trust

As for God- His way, it is still perfect
Though so often we don’t understand
And the Word of God is tried, it’s proven
That our faith and hope might be in God

Though our health might fail, but God will never
Never ever will the Lord fail us
Though we might taste sorrow, pain and heartache
God is good, still trust Him and obey

He has made the heaven and the earth
On His own with greatness and such power
And there’s nothing that is hard for God
And the ways of God are not our ways

On this earth- we will have trouble, heartache
Sin has brought such pain and so much loss
But our hope should not be in things, people
God can still be trusted, He’s still good

Though before the Lord our sin was great
Though deserve we death, eternal pain
God has proved His love, sent us a Savior
And our hope should be only in Christ

As for God- His way it is still perfect
He can be the refuge for your soul
When you walk through fire or face great hardships
He still loves, sufficient is His grace

“As for God, His way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: He is a buckler to all those that trust in Him” Psalm 18:30

“He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him” 1 John 4:8-9

“All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep His covenant and His testimonies” Psalm 25:10

“And He said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me” 2 Corinthians 12:9

  • Thank You Lord that Your way is perfect. The word of the Lord is tried and You are a shield to all those that trust You.
  • Thank You Lord, that You are love. You showed us your love by sending Your only Son into the world that we might live through Christ.
  • Thank You Lord that all of Your paths are mercy and truth to those that keep Your covenant and Your testimonies. Thank You for giving me the grace and power to keep Your covenant and Your testimonies. Thank You that all Your paths toward me are mercy and truth.
  • Thank You Lord that Your grace is always sufficient for me. Your strength is made perfect in weakness. I will most gladly rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

The Father of Mercies

 The Father of Mercies

If you’re going through a trial, and it hurts
And way out, you simply do not know
Do not look at problems that are big
Look at Christ- He’s bigger and much greater

He can calm the storm in your own life
Just a word from Him, and all is calm
He is good, He cares for you, my friend
He is God Almighty, loves you much

But sometimes storms don’t calm right away
Sometimes we must wait, stand firm in faith
Sometimes we must violent be in faith
And by force take what for us Christ purchased

In the fiery furnace, oh it hurts!
And we want to quickly just get out
Help us Jesus to behold Your glory
Even in the fire- we want to please You

We want to become much more like Christ
More like Him in character, in ways
 Humble, meek, compassionate to others
More like Him, in how we treat all others

And when it, just hurts, so much, so much
 Don’t forget, you’re not alone, you’re His
He is God of Hope, and God of peace
He is God of comfort, He loves much

Come to Him, for He our Father is
Like a child, talk to Him, my friend
Let Him comfort you, remind you too
He is with you and will never leave

It is only when mercy you need
When through trials that are great you go
You will know Him as He says He is:
Father of mercies and the God of all comfort

“Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfortWho comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble…”  2 Corinthians 1:3-4a

“That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ” 1 Peter 1:7

“…for He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.  So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me” Hebrews 13:5c-6

“Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us” Romans 8:37

“And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force” Matthew 11:12

“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord” 2 Corinthians 3:18

  • I bless You God and I thank You; Thank You that You are the Father of Mercies and the God of all comfort. Thank You for Your comfort during our tribulation. Thank You for being there for us and not against us.
  • I am not forsaken; I am never alone. My Heavenly Father is the Father of Mercies and He is always there. I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
  • The trial of my faith is more precious than gold. I will come out of any trial like gold because the Father of Mercies is with me, The God of all comfort comforts me and Jesus will never leave me or forsake me and I am more than conqueror through Christ.
  • Because God is my Father and He comforts me in all my tribulation, I am able to comfort others. Thank You Holy Spirit for comforting others through me.
  • Holy Spirit strengthen me to be violent in faith, that the Kingdom of God will come in every area of my life. Help me to fervently believe and take from the Enemy that which Jesus already paid for and gave to me but the Enemy took from me.
  • Thank You Jesus that it is not the hardships that makes me more like Jesus. But beholding Your glory Jesus. Help me to gaze on You always- no matter the circumstances to be changed from glory to glory.

The God of Patience and Consolation

The God of Patience and Consolation

Your heart is aching and it hurts so much
Your heart is anxious and so often fearful
You’re not at rest, you worry, and you cry
And you don’t know the answer to your problems

The God Almighty, who is great in might
The One who all this earth, by Word, created
The One by whom all of this earth consists
He also is the God of consolation

He wants you to give all your pain to Him
He wants you to trust Him completely, wholly
He loves so much- He proved His love for you
When Jesus came and died for all your sin

He loves you much- He cares and He waits
He is the God of patience, consolation
So patiently, He waits and waits and waits
For you to turn to Him and trust completely

He is a friend- much closer than a brother
Father of mercies- He is still today
He is the God of hope; the God of comfort
He wants to comfort you and soothe your pain

You looked at pain, all your circumstances
You looked at problems and all of the hurt
 And by your circumstances, often
You measured love of God for you

And in your eyes- He failed you greatly
And in your heart- you could not trust
And you have blamed God for your problems
Though He is faithful, loves you greatly

 Jesus is waiting, waiting, waiting
For you to place your trust in Him
He proved His love, and loves you greatly
Do not reject Him. Trust Him, friend

He is the answer to your many questions
He is the answer; His- is life you want
The thief comes to destroy, to kill
Christ came to give life that’s abundant!!

“Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus” Romans 15:5

“But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” Romans 5:8 KJV

“But God has made clear His love to us, in that, when we were still sinners, Christ gave his life for us” Romans 5:8 BBE*

“In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through HimHerein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins”  1 John 4:9-10

“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly” John 10:10

  • Thank You Lord, that You are the God of Patience and Consolation. Thank You for Your patience toward us. Thank You that You patiently wait for us to come to You and trust You completely.
  • Thank You that You are the God of Consolation- No one can comfort and soothe our pain like You can. With You I do not need to know the answer to my many “Why’s”; Jesus You are the answer and You are all I need
  • Thank you that You proved, You showed how much You love us by sending Jesus to die for our sin. Even if I (or you) were the only sinners on the earth, Jesus would have came and died to redeem us. Thank You for Your love
  • I will not measure the love of God by the bad circumstances in my life, for You proved Your love for me, and the bad circumstances are just the evidence of our sinful nature and that the thief- the Enemy exists
  • Thank You Father that You GAVE Your Son as propitiation for our sins. Thank You that Jesus died to appease Your wrath and justice against sin.
  • Thank You that ANYONE who repents of their sin and places all their faith in Christ will be saved.
  • Thank You Jesus that You did not come to condemn us, but to save us from our sins
  • Thank You Jesus that You came that I might have life and that I might have life more abundantly. Thank You for life abundant!

Teach Me Humility

Just recently- when problems at work arose, the Lord showed to me again the pride in my heart- how often I want things done my way. And somehow, I got deceived into thinking- that “if in this situation my life will be better- “like this”– then it does not matter if someone else’s life will get harder when I get my way”.

One of the things I realized, is that so often, we focus on so many “great and amazing” attributes of God- but we refuse to acknowledge that Jesus said that He is meek and lowly in heart (Matthew 11:29) – and He is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). Somehow, that does not fit our modern theology.

The Almighty God, the Most High God, the Master, the Creator, and the Holy One- humbled Himself. He chose to leave His glory and become a human. We are not almighty, we are not the creator, we are not the most high- and yet we often find it difficult to humble ourselves.

When He became a human, He could have paraded his greatness, holiness, and His ability to do miracles- but instead He chose the path of humility, of meekness. Jesus did not say, Come unto Me to find rest for your souls- for I do miracles, I heal, I am great, I am so holy, I am so good.

He said “Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls” Matthew 11:28-29.

Come unto Me for I am meek and lowly in heart. Learn of My humility and rest in Me. Jesus was humble, because He is love. And love does not parade itself as better. Love is kind, love is not proud, love is not puffed up, love is humble.

We so often get deceived into thinking that having rest for our souls- means getting things we want and having things done and happen our way- the way we want them. And we deceive ourselves into thinking that only then- our souls will find rest.

Jesus wants us to learn of His meekness and lowliness of heart. For it is not only when we come to Jesus that we find rest for our souls- but also when we take His yoke and learn of His meekness and humility- that we find rest for our souls.

 Teach Me Humility

Deliver me for pride, selfish ambition
For pride creeps in- when I am not on guard
And selfish motives me just start to govern
The moment that my eyes don’t look at Christ

Help me to single-minded be- Lord always
To look at things only through eyes of Christ
For I too often look through eyes of pride
And think I’m more important than all others

If I am inconvenienced- it’s big deal
 But others inconvenience I freely
If someone made my life hard- what a crime
But often I my faults don’t even notice

If someone spoke from heart of pride- that’s bad
But freely speak I sometimes very proudly.
Teach me humility, Lord teach me meekness
And how to gentle be with all the others

Jesus You said- to learn of You, from You
You said You’re meek and lowly You’re in heart
You were not governed by selfish ambition
You did not seek Your own- but Father’s will

You’re gentle Jesus, humble in the heart
In You alone we rest find for our souls
But we so often get deceived in thinking
That rest is having all things as we please

Jesus- You’re love and You in love walked earth
And love is kind, it’s patient, it’s not proud
It does not seek its own, is not puffed up
Love is not easily provoked, long-suffers

Love bears all things, all things endures -all things
Love is not rude, love does not brag at all
Love never fails; and love is always humble
For love is meek and lowly in the heart

Teach me humility, Lord teach me meekness
Teach me to love like You Lord love
Teach me to always, always look at Jesus
And in Your love to always Lord abide.

“Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls” Matthew 11:28-29

“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me” Galatians 2:20

“As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love” John 15:9

  • Thank You Jesus that You give us eternal rest for our souls when we come to You.
  • Teach me to always take Your yoke upon me, and to learn of You Jesus. To learn from Your meekness, Your humility and lowliness of heart.
  • Thank You that You are love, and You exemplified what it means to be love here on earth. Teach me to exemplify Your love on earth.
  • Thank You Jesus that it is no longer I, but Christ who lives through me. And in Christ, I am meek, I am humble, I suffer long. In Christ, I am kind. In Christ, I do not envy and am not puffed up. In Christ, I do not behave rudely and do not seek my own. In Christ, I am not provoked easily. In Christ,  I think no evil, do not rejoice in iniquity but rejoice in truth. In Christ, I bear all things, believe all things, hope all things and endure all things.
  • Help me to not go back and try to live my life, but see myself as crucified with Christ, dead to sin, alive unto God, and now Christ lives in me and through me. Thank You for the victory in Christ!
  • Thank You Jesus that You have loved us as the Father has loved You. Teach me to abide in Your love always.
